Reducing Our Usual Work For A Little While To Build Our Future Income
We've been working hard, but it's taken away from our usual stuff.

This past week looked a little different than usual for me. I did far less of my regular freelance work because I spent most of my time creating new products for our Zazzle stores and optimizing older listings so they’d be ready to benefit from Zazzle’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday traffic. That meant long days of uploading, mockups, tags, and polishing details while those promotions were running.
I also carved out time to get our Grace and Light Facebook page and Instagram account created and set up. That part took far longer than expected—both platforms had more hoops to jump through than I anticipated—but they’re finally up and running.
Later tonight I’ll be doing my end-of-month cash-out for Prolific, Cloud Connect and Atlas Earth. It will definitely be lower than a typical week, partly because several Prolific studies are still pending and partly because almost all my attention was on Zazzle instead of the usual mix of income sources. I’ll share the actual numbers in next week’s update.
A big part of my time lately has also gone into learning. I’ve been taking classes and workshops to build a stronger foundation for our stores since our long-term goal is for Zazzle to eventually become our full-time income. I took a couple of classes the week before Thanksgiving with Jen and Elke Clarke, and we have an all-day workshop with them coming up on Tuesday, December 2nd. I’m also signed up for two Pinterest-sponsored workshops on December 8th and 9th.
Our best seller for November was our The Prayers of Christ Inspirational Calendar, where each month has a different prayer spoken by Jesus Christ. We also offer a larger-print edition (The Prayers of Christ - Larger Print Edition Calendar) with a less elaborate, easier to read font.
I’ll wrap up with a quote that feels fitting for the week:
“Small steps, consistently taken,
lead to the biggest changes.”
